Allmoxy prints two kinds of labels. Product labels carry item details (size, material, line number, a barcode) and are designed on each product. Order labels carry order-level details such as the shipping address and are designed on the output page itself. Both are printed from a Labels type output page, whose Label Options control the sheet or roll they print on.
Applies to: shops printing labels on a sheet or a label printer. Needs the Manage Catalog permission.

Create the labels output page
- Go to Settings (gear) > E-commerce > Output Pages and click Add output page.
- Name it and set Output Page Type to Labels.
- In Label Options, set Product Columns (labels across the page), the paddings (space inside each label) and Label height. Leave the height empty and each label grows to fit its text. There is no separate label width: the width comes from the page width, margins and number of columns. The space between one label and the next is Product List Left Margin and Product List Right Margin.
- For a sheet of labels, set Page Width, Page Height and the page margins to match the sheet; unset, the page is Letter, 8.5 x 11 with 0.5" margins.
- For a label printer such as a Zebra roll printer, set Product Columns to 1, set the page size to one label, and tick One label per page.
- Save.
The diagram below shows what each measurement controls. Page margins are the space around the whole sheet, product list margins are the space between labels, and padding is the space between a label's edge and its text.
Product labels
- Open the product (Settings > E-commerce > Products) and click the Labels tab.
- Click Add Label, name it and choose the labels output page it belongs to.
- Design the label in the editor using the order, group and item variables from the sidebar:
{order_num},{company_name},#{group_id}{line_num}for the line ID,{line_barcode}for a scannable barcode, and the product's own attributes such as{cabinet_width}. - Tick One label per line if you want one label per order line regardless of quantity; leave it off for one label per item.
- Save.
Copy labels between products. At the bottom of the Labels tab, Copy Labels From Other Products pulls a label in and Send Labels To Other Products pushes this one out to the products you choose. Labels cannot be edited in bulk afterwards, so finish the label before you send it.
Order labels
Order labels carry order details only. They cannot show part-specific information; use product labels for that.
- Create a Labels page as above, or open an Invoice page you want labels on.
- In the page's HTML editor, place the
{labels}variable where the labels should print. - Use Label Options for the columns, padding and margins. On a page that is not Labels type, these settings apply only because of the
{labels}variable. - Add the order variables you want (shipping address, order name, ship date) around or inside the label content and save.
Troubleshooting label layout
Know your sheet. Look up the template for the label sheet or roll you use and type its real margins and label size into Label Options. If you cannot find them, start with the number of columns, the page size and the label height, open the page on an order, and print a test sheet. If the labels are off, adjust the padding and margin settings a little at a time until they line up.
Text too big or too small. For a label built on a product's Labels tab, select the text in the label editor and change its size there. For the product and supply information the page prints itself, open the labels output page and pick a Product Font Size (8px to 16px); the editor can't resize that text.
Labels float too high, or leave a gap at the bottom. Labels build from the top down. On an 8.5 x 11 sheet with two columns of five 1" labels and no margins, the labels cover 10" of an 11" page and the gap lands at the bottom. Increase Top/Bottom Page Margin to take up the difference and the labels center.
Labels float to the left. Increase Left/Right Page Margin a little. Centering the text inside the label in the editor helps too.
A barcode will not scan. Print at a larger scale (over 100%, 200% to be safe) or increase the label height so the barcode has room.
Printing from label-printer software. Most label printers accept a CSV. Allmoxy can build that file for you through a part export; see Exporters.
