Customer sign-ups

Details the process and options available for new customer sign-ups

About customer sign-ups:

You have the option to control what types of customers sign up for Allmoxy:

Individual Accounts are customers not affiliated with businesses (ie homeowners or retail customers). You can disable the individual account type in your Order Settings.

Business Accounts are customers who are affiliated with a business and may have multiple users log in under the same account. Use custom fields on the sign up form to capture pertinent business information, like an EIN, License Number, or Tax Exemption ID.

If you prefer to allow only employees to create new accounts, select yes on the Disable Account Creation in Order Settings

For either account type, the one address required at sign up is a billing address. This defaults for the user and allows for a very seamless order and checkout experience. Customers can add additional shipping, office, or billing addresses and designate which ones are defaulted.

What happens when a customer signs up:

As soon as a new customer creates an account on your instance (your Allmoxy site), they will receive an automatic email from Allmoxy with their username.

Troubleshooting welcome emails:

Here's a list of reasons why people might not get a message:

  • The customer's inbox is full.
  • The customer mistyped their email address when registering an account.
  • The message went to the junk box because a lot of email filters default to "if this address isn't in your contact list, it must be junk."
  • The customer's email provider or client could have some over-aggressive filtering that prevents commercial messages from even reaching the user's junk box.
  • Message rejected due to virus scan false positive.
  • Network congestion. The message may eventually show up after a delay.
  • Network throttling.

We also recommend that you create a Welcome Email that will be fired via trigger as soon as a company signs up. We've created a template email trigger that you can fill in the blank to customize, or write up your own!

It's also good to have an internal employee receive a trigger notice of a new sign-up, so they can add tags that control pricing or reach out to the new customer to answer questions.
