Order Level Settings

Enter or update an order more efficiently than ever with order-level settings!

Order Level Settings are attributes your customers can select before adding products to their order. Once set, those attributes will be auto-filled on products by the selection made in the order level settings. This is extremely helpful if you're ordering multiple products with the same attributes like door style, wood type, finish material, grain direction, etc. The order level settings also allow you to quickly change an attribute option across an entire order, giving you more efficient quoting and order updating.

How to set up a preset:

Navigate to the attribute you want to add to your Order Level Settings list. Check the box for the Is an Order Level Setting. This attribute will now be available on the order page in the Order Level Settings.

Order Level Setting Defaults

You can also set a default for the Order Level Setting. Check the box "Set Attribute Default in Order Level Setting" to turn this default on your Order Level Settings.

A few things to note about Order Level Settings defaults:

1. If you have an Override set on your attribute that is different from the original default, the preset will reset to --Select One--.

2. When you have a product that is completely configured with the Order Level Settings, the FIRST item you add does not evaluate the price until an attribute on that product is changed or a second item is added to the order.

3. The Order Level Settings start out as a collapsed bar on the order page that can be expanded when you're ready to make selections. If you'd like the Order Level Settings to default to an expanded position (instead of starting out collapsed) you'll find a setting called "Default Expanded Presets" in your Order Settings!

4. Order Level Settings now stay set after you've left the order or bid so that you no longer have to make the selections again after coming back to finish the order.

5. There is not currently a way to pick and choose which options show up on presets depending on products. The expectation for these presets is that they are order-wide selections. If your customer will be changing the option on that attribute from product to product, it is probably not suitable as an Order Level Setting.

Order level settings and folders

Order level settings can also be dictated at the folder level. This allows you to set options for a particular segment of your order. For example, if you use folders to break up a kitchen design, you might have a folder for the island with a specific finish material. Then you'd create your base cabinets in a separate folder with a different finish material. Use folder-level settings to set the desired finish for each folder before adding products!

Apply to Current Products vs Apply only to Future Products

There are two options in order level settings that you can select: Apply to Current Products or Apply only to Future Products.

If you select Apply to Current Products, it will apply whatever attributes you have selected to all the products currently in the order and all future products that will be added.

If you click on Apply only to Future Products, it won't change the products you have currently in the cart, but it will change all future products to have that attribute selected.
