Using the Timecard Scanner
The timecard scanner lets your employees quickly clock in and out by scanning a barcode instead of manually clocking into Allmoxy each time. Here's how to set it up and use it effectively.
What You'll Need
You'll need a simple barcode scanner connected to your computer, set to Code 128 format. This is the same scanner setup you'd use for all other Allmoxy scanning functions.
Getting Employee Timecards
Only employees with the "Edit any timecard" permission can print timecards for other employees.
To print a new timecard: Look for the timecard print option right next to the "Clock In" button on their dashboard.
Setting Up a Scanning Station
You can turn any computer in your shop into a timecard scanning station. Here's how:
- Click on the avatar in the top right corner of Allmoxy
- Select "Timecard Scanner" from the dropdown menu
- The computer is now ready for employees to scan their timecards
How Employees Use the Scanner
Once your scanning station is set up, employees simply scan their printed timecard barcode to clock in and out. No need to log in or navigate through menus - just scan and go!
Security Features
The timecard scanner is designed to be safe for shared use. As soon as anyone navigates away from the timecard scanner page, the system automatically logs out the current user. This means you can safely leave a scanning station open for all employees to use without worrying about security.
Troubleshooting Scanning Issues
Having trouble getting barcodes to scan? Try printing the timecard at a larger size. This reduces barcode clutter and makes scanning more reliable.
Quick fix: Increase your print scale to over 100% - try 200% to be safe! The larger barcode will be much easier for your scanner to read consistently.
