Export files for nesting and design software

How to get an Allmoxy export file that your nesting software, CNC or design software (Cabinet Vision, Mozaik, Microvellum, CutRite) can read: send us a sample and we build it with you.

Allmoxy can write export files that drop straight into your nesting software, CNC or design system. Every system wants its own structure and every shop's products are defined differently, so the file is built for your setup. The fastest way to get it right is to let your software show us what it needs.

Why your product definitions matter

How products are defined in your nesting software can shape how your Allmoxy catalog should be structured. If the software expects products to be organized or named a certain way, the catalog should line up with that from the start, so the export works without reworking products later. If you are building a line in Allmoxy that you do not produce through that system today, talk to an Implementation Engineer before building it.

Work backwards from your software

Getting two systems to talk is always iterative, and starting from your software's own output takes out the guesswork.

  1. Create a typical order in your nesting software. Make it realistic: the products, configurations and details you normally send to production. Do not overthink it.
  2. Export that order with the software's standard export. We can work with .ord, .xml and .csv files; pick whichever your software produces most naturally.
  3. Send it to your Implementation Engineer. From the sample we can see which fields are required, how products are named and formatted, which order details belong in the file, and how sizes, materials and specifications are structured. We then build the exporter and the part formulas to match.

Things to know

  • Building an export is iterative. Our engineers do not always have your software, so we need you to test files on real orders and tell us what is off.
  • Allmoxy ships with starting points for several systems (Cabinet Vision ORD and ORDX, Mozaik ORD, Microvellum XML, CutRite, Envision PDL, KCD); your engineer adapts the right one to your catalog.
