Use your own web address and link it from your website

Add an Order Online link from your website to your Allmoxy login page, then request a custom domain such as orders.yourshop.com with a CNAME record.

Allmoxy works best alongside your existing website: your site does the marketing, and an Order Online button sends customers to Allmoxy to log in and order. If you'd like that address to carry your own name, such as orders.yourwebsitename.com, you can request a custom domain.

Applies to: every shop. Linking from your website needs whoever manages your website. A custom domain needs access to your DNS provider and a Stripe connection on your site.

Link to Allmoxy from your website

  1. Decide where the button goes: your Allmoxy address, the one you log in at today (or your custom domain, once it's set up).
  2. Ask whoever built or manages your website to add a call-to-action button, such as Order Online!, that opens that address.

Visitors land on your login page, where they can log in or create an account. If you've turned on public ordering at Settings > E-commerce > Order Settings, visitors who open that address can start an order before they log in. That's an easy way to streamline ordering for your customers.

Allmoxy doesn't build websites. If you don't have one yet, any website builder will do; the link is all Allmoxy needs.

Before you request a custom domain

  • Your site must be connected to Stripe before we set up a custom domain. To check, go to Settings > Admin > Financial and look for the connected Stripe banner at the top of the page. If it isn't there, see Set up Stripe to take payments online.
  • Pick the name. Something like orders.yourwebsitename.com is recommended, but you can choose what you like and change it later.
  • Know who manages your DNS. It's usually the same provider that hosts your company website.

Create the CNAME record

  1. Sign in at your DNS provider (the company you get your website's domain from).
  2. Add a new CNAME record for the name you chose. GoDaddy's steps are at Add a CNAME record; other providers have a similar help page. If you're not sure what to enter, ask us on chat before you save it.
  3. Save the record.

If you have an in-house IT specialist, they can do this in a few minutes. If you'd like our developers to set up the CNAME for you, we can do that as billable consulting time.

Send us the request

Fill in the custom domain request form at allmoxy.com/custom-domain-name-request. Once your CNAME record is live, we add your domain on our side and issue its security certificate; that part usually takes a few minutes once we start it. We'll let you know when it's ready.

What changes after

  • Your site opens at your custom domain. Anyone who opens your old allmoxy.com address is redirected to it.
  • Links in emails sent by scheduled jobs (for example the daily digest) still use your allmoxy.com address. They work; they just don't show your name.
  • The newer screens (the new reports such as Email Logs, the Importer and the payment pages) aren't available on custom domains yet. Use your allmoxy.com address for those screens.

Things to know

  • Update your website's button to the new address once it's live, so customers see your name from the first click.
  • Still stuck? Reach our customer service on chat at the bottom right of this page.
