Guide: Prices and products for each customer group
How to give each customer group its own prices, products and options in Allmoxy: tags, price adjustments, exclusive products and Dealer Mode.
One catalog, many kinds of customer: tags tell them apart. Tag each company with its group (Dealer, Tier 2, Contractor), then point a price adjustment, an exclusive product or category, or an option rule at the tag. This guide maps each job to the article with the steps. Start with Tags: group customers, orders and products if your companies aren't tagged yet.
Applies to: shops that sell from a catalog (price adjustments aren't available on project-only instances). Adjustments need Manage Financial Settings; products, categories and attributes need Manage Catalog.

Pricing tiers by tag
Tag the companies, then create a price adjustment at Settings > Operations > Price Adjustments with Company set to Use Tags instead of All Companies and pick the tag. The discount or surcharge applies only to orders for the companies that carry the tag, as a percent or a flat amount per item, in either direction (a discount for dealers, or a surcharge for retail). Steps: Price adjustments. If the tag doesn't exist yet, create it by typing the name followed by a comma.
A dealer price that isn't a percentage
What if you offer dealers a different rate, not a percentage discount? Two choices.
A flat-amount adjustment is the simpler one. Aim a price adjustment at the dealer tag, type the amount as a $ figure (not a %), choose Discount, and add a conditional group with Product Equals the product. Flat amounts apply per item: a $25.00 discount for tag Dealer on "Shaker Door" turns 12 doors at $85.00 into 12 x $60.00 = $720.00 instead of $1,020.00. The original product and its formula stay as they are.
A dealer-only copy of the product is for a dealer price that needs a different formula altogether.
- Open the product and click Clone this product. The copy opens as "Copy of ..." with the original's attributes, parts, tags and exclusivity.
- Rename it, for example "Dealer Exclusive: Shaker Door", or whatever shows it differs from the original.
- On the Pricing tab, change the pricing. See How Allmoxy prices a product.
- Set Company Exclusive to Use Tags and pick the dealer tag. The copy keeps the original's exclusivity until you change it, so without this step the wrong customers see it.
- The copy starts not for sale. Tick Available for sale and save.
See Copy, bulk-edit, import and export products. The cost is maintenance: the copy doesn't follow later changes to the original.
Products and categories only some customers see
Every product and category has a Company Exclusive setting: None, Single Company, or Use Tags (every company carrying one of the tags). Exclusivity grants access rather than taking it away, so hiding one product from one company takes a tag on every other product and every other company. Setting and workaround: Guide: Categories in Allmoxy; for products, Create a product.
Options that differ by customer
When some customers shouldn't see a wood or a finish, don't duplicate the product: on a select attribute, the Company availability tab shows or hides each option by company tag. See Show attribute options by company tag. To change an attribute on one product only, use Edit overrides.
Prices for new sign-ups
A new sign-up sees your base prices unless something tags it. A trigger with the Add Tags action tags every sign-up, and an adjustment aimed at that tag applies from their first page. See Review new sign-ups and keep fake accounts out.
Dealer branding
Dealer Mode lets each dealer's primary contact replace your header with their own logo. See Let dealers show their own logo (Dealer Mode).
Things to know
- Adjustments follow the company. A tag on a contact does nothing for pricing; tag the company.
- Changing exclusivity edits old orders. The next save of another company's order drops the product.
- Check the result as the customer. An administrator can open the dealer's contact and use Hijack; see What your customers see.
