Light and Dark Mode
Choose how Allmoxy Looks
If you spend all day in Allmoxy, the screen you're staring at matters — so now you get to pick. Light or dark, per person, with a company default behind it.

What light and dark mode change
This is a look-and-feel setting, not a permissions or data setting. Nothing about your orders, catalog, or reports changes — Allmoxy just paints the same screens on a dark surface instead of a light one.
Two places control it:
- Your personal preference, set in the avatar menu. This only affects you.
- The site default, set on your Theme settings page. This is what everyone sees who hasn't picked something for themselves.
Your personal pick always wins over the site default. If you haven't picked one, you follow the default. If nobody's set a default, Allmoxy stays light.
Pick your appearance
Everybody's eyes are different, and so is everybody's shop floor — a bright office and a dim production area don't want the same screen. So this one is per person, and you don't need an admin to set it for you.
- Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
- Open the appearance option in the menu.
- Choose Light, Dark, or Site default.
The page flips right away — no reload, no re-login. Your choice is saved to your user account, so it's still there the next time you log in.
Picking Site default hands the decision back to whatever your company has set. That's the right choice if you'd rather just follow along with everyone else.
Set the default for your whole team
Most people never touch a setting they don't know exists. If you want your whole team in dark mode — or you want to be sure everyone starts in light — set the default once and it applies to every user who hasn't chosen for themselves.
- Go to Settings → General.
- Find the Theme section.
- Set Default appearance to Light or Dark.
- Save.
Two things worth knowing here:
- It won't override anyone's personal pick. A user who explicitly chose Light stays light, even if you set the default to Dark. That's on purpose — a preference someone set for themselves shouldn't get yanked out from under them.
- It's not the same as your order-page theme. The theme your customers see on your ordering pages is a separate setting on this same page, and it's untouched by this. Changing your default appearance won't change what your customers see when they place an order.
What stays light no matter what
A few things are intentionally always light, and that's the right call — dark backgrounds don't belong on paper or in someone's inbox.
- PDFs. Invoices, batches, part lists — anything Allmoxy generates as a PDF prints light every time.
- Emails. Anything Allmoxy sends out goes out light.
- Public and anonymous pages. Pages someone can reach without logging in — a public order link, for example — follow your site default and ignore individual preferences. That makes sense: there's no logged-in user to have a preference.
Good to know
Allmoxy doesn't follow your computer's dark mode — yet. There's no "match my system settings" option right now. Dark mode turns on because you (or your admin) picked it, not because your laptop switched at sunset. We know that's the option a lot of people expect, and it's on the list for after the design refresh finishes.
You may still find a screen that looks light in dark mode. We're converting Allmoxy page by page, and a handful of older screens haven't been through that conversion yet — so in dark mode you might hit a stubborn white table or a popup that didn't get the memo. That's a known gap, not something broken on your end, and it shrinks with every release. If you find one that's genuinely hard to read, send it to support with the page name and a screenshot and we'll get it logged.
Switching back is one click. Try dark for a week. If it's not for you, the avatar menu is right where you left it.
