Use light or dark mode
Pick light or dark mode for yourself in the Allmoxy avatar menu, set the default for your whole team on Theme Settings, and learn what stays light.
If you spend all day in Allmoxy, the screen you're looking at matters, so you get to pick. Light or dark, per person, with a site default behind it.
Applies to: every employee. You don't need an admin to set your own appearance. Setting the site default needs the Edit the site settings permission.

What light and dark mode change
This is a look-and-feel setting, not a permissions or data setting. Nothing about your orders, catalog or reports changes. Allmoxy paints the same screens on a dark surface instead of a light one.
Two places control it:
- Your personal preference, set in the avatar menu. This only affects you.
- The site default, set on Settings > Admin > Theme. This is what everyone sees who hasn't picked something for themselves.
Your personal pick always wins over the site default. If you haven't picked one, you follow the default. If nobody has set a default, Allmoxy stays light.
Pick your appearance
Everybody's eyes are different, and so is everybody's shop floor. A bright office and a dim production area don't want the same screen. So this one is per person.
- Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
- Under Color Mode, choose Light, Dark or Default.
The page flips right away, with no reload and no re-login. Your choice is saved to your account, so it's still there the next time you log in. If the save fails, the page flips back and shows a message.
Picking Default hands the decision back to whatever your company has set. That's the right choice if you'd rather follow along with everyone else.
Set the default for your whole team
Most people never touch a setting they don't know exists. If you want your whole team in dark mode, or you want to be sure everyone starts in light, set the default once and it applies to every person who hasn't chosen for themselves.
- Go to Settings > Admin > Theme.
- Set Default Color Mode to Light or Dark.
- Save.
Two things worth knowing here:
- It won't override anyone's personal pick. A person who chose Light stays light, even if you set the default to Dark. That's on purpose: a preference someone set for themselves shouldn't get pulled out from under them.
- It's not the same as your order page layout. The layout your customers see on your ordering pages is a separate setting on this same page, and it's untouched by this. Changing your Default Color Mode won't change what your customers see when they place an order.
What stays light no matter what
A few things are always light, and that's the right call. Dark backgrounds don't belong on paper or in someone's inbox.
- PDFs. Invoices, batches, part lists, anything Allmoxy generates as a PDF prints light every time, even when you print from a dark screen.
- Emails. Everything Allmoxy sends goes out light. (The recipient's own mail app may still darken it on their end.)
- Public pages. Pages someone can reach without logging in, such as a public order link, follow your site default and ignore individual preferences. There's no logged-in person to have a preference.
Things to know
- The classic screens don't follow your computer's dark mode. There's no "match my system" option for them. Dark mode turns on because you (or your admin) picked it, not because your laptop switched at sunset.
- The newer screens do the opposite. The new reports (such as Email Logs), the Importer and the payment pages don't receive your avatar-menu choice yet. They follow your computer's light or dark setting. So if you pick Dark on a light computer, you may see a light report inside a dark page. To keep everything matching, set your computer to the same mode you picked in Allmoxy.
- You may still find an older screen that looks light in dark mode. We're converting Allmoxy page by page, and a handful of older screens haven't been through it yet, so you might hit a white table or a popup. That's a known gap, not something broken on your end. If one is genuinely hard to read, send the page name and a screenshot to support and we'll log it.
- Switching back is one click. Try dark for a week. If it's not for you, the avatar menu is right where you left it.
