Undo, refund or move a payment, or record a bounced check
Undo a payment from its receipt, refund a customer through Stripe, move a payment to the right invoice, and record a bounced check.
Fix a payment from its receipt at Financial > Payment Receipts. From there you can undo the payment or mark a check as bounced. Refunds are made in your Stripe dashboard, because Allmoxy has no refund button.
Applies to: undoing payments and recording bounced checks needs the Manage Financial Settings permission, which only the account owner has by default.

Undo a payment
- Go to Financial > Payment Receipts and open the payment.
- Choose to undo the transaction and confirm.
The invoices the payment covered show as owing again, and the payment is marked as undone. Undoing a card payment shows a warning that nothing was reversed at the bank or in your accounting software, so handle those separately.
Refund a customer
- Refund the money in your Stripe dashboard.
- In Allmoxy, undo the payment, or create a credit memo to offset it.
Move a payment to the right invoice
- Undo the payment from its receipt.
- Record a payment by hand on the correct invoice, using the same amount and a method such as Check or EFT so the customer isn't charged again. See Take a payment for a customer.
Record a bounced check
- Open the payment's receipt.
- Choose This Check Bounced and enter the fee.
Allmoxy adds a bounced payment fee invoice and reopens the invoices the check paid. Your default fee is set in Financial settings. If you undo the bounced payment later, its fee invoice is voided.
Things to know
- Undoing an account credit payment gives the credit back as a new credit memo named "Canceled Transaction."
- Undoing a payment that had a cash discount removes the discount too.
- If the payment was already sent to your accounting software, adjust it there as well.
